Zuckerberg's AI pledge leaves experts concerned as he announces plans to develop an AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) as smart as a human. The debate continues as to whether this is possible (or wise) given current uncertainty surrounding the regulation of AI systems so powerful.

Highlights from NRF’s big show include a focus on omnichannel experiences and the necessity of an AI strategy, high quality data, physical stores, and a sustainability mission. DTC strategy is also said to be shifting as it becomes harder to predict demand.

The New York Times vs. OpenAI. Late last year, The New York Times sued OpenAI over alleged copyright infringement in a case reminiscent of the Napster saga. At the heart of the dispute is the use of copyrighted content to train AI models.

Paypal is introducing six new innovations in response to customer pain points. President Alex Chriss believes the developments will “change the world of payments and commerce”. New features include a transformed checkout experience, advanced offers platform for merchants, and a consumer app to earn cash back.

Videowise’s latest updates include a dynamic video optimisation feature that delivers faster loading times, consistent quality, and optimised storage usage. The shoppable video app has also introduced a Quick Shop Carousel to streamline the customer journey from browsing to buying.

I’ve been in the eCommerce space for over two years, working as part of the UK Partnerships team at Yotpo. In my current role, I work closely with our EMEA agency partners to help implement sustainable retention strategies for their clients. 

Before Yotpo, I worked in enterprise loyalty, creating commercial partnerships aimed at significantly lowering CPAs (I have always been savvy to the world of retention!). Prior to that, influencer marketing was my thing both professionally and personally.
